Billy Wu is a bilingual multimedia journalist and producer with experience across TV, radio, social media and digital platforms in Asia. He most recently served as a correspondent intern at Taiwan’s Central News Agency in Singapore, producing 20+ multimedia news packages on geopolitics, energy, and soft power within one month. At TaiwanPlus, he created over 100 broadcast segments on breaking news, energy, and culture. His newsroom background also includes leading production on mnews’s award-nominated international affairs program, growing PanSci’s digital reach with a viral short video topping 230K views, publishing features for the Taipei Times, producing a flagship English podcast for CommonWealth Magazine, and anchoring a 20-minute capstone newscast during his master’s in Global Communication at National Chengchi University.
As part of my master’s program at GCIT, I produced a full 20-minute news broadcast under the GCIT News banner, taking on multiple roles as producer, anchor, field reporter, video editor, and writer. Working with a small core team, I built the program from the ground up : pitching and scripting to live hits, cultural features, and business coverage. The project served as an intensive training ground in real-world newsroom demands, sharpening my ability to manage field shoots and oversee collaborative production at a professional standard.
